    Awesome!! Thanks so much!
  • My family really liked this chicken recipe using Greek yogurt. I found it at DashingDish.com.

1 pound Boneless skinless chicken breasts or breast tenderloins (about 4 breasts)
1/2 cup Plain low fat Greek yogurt
    3 tablespoons Grated parmesan cheese
2 teaspoons Garlic, chopped (or 1 teaspoon garlic powder)
1 teaspoon Dried minced onions (or 1/2 teaspoon onion powder)
1 teaspoon Dried herb seasoning mix
Pinch Salt and pepper to taste

I usually pound the chicken to make it more tender....then lay in a pan.
Mix the yogurt and other ingredients and just coat the chicken.
Bake it at 375* for about 30-35 minutes and I usually switch to BROIL for a few minutes or until it's browned.

Pretty quick and easy; then pair with a veggie you like. I've steamed cauliflower and chopped it up and my daughter thinks it's rice.

    Hi all

I am only on day 3 of my new healthy eating and exercise plan and I keep noticing people mentioning greek yoghurt, which seems to be pretty much a staple of everyone's diet on here

My request is can you all post some recipes using greek yoghurt? I cook everything from scratch and would love some lunch ideas using this

    Many thanks:happy:

anything that asks for sour cream I will always substitute with plain greek yogurt.

I mix it with spices to make dip. Or spreads for sandwiches and wraps.

I will put 1 tablespoon of dark chocolate chips and either 1/2 a tsp of mint or vanilla extract into 1/2 a cup of it if I get a sweet craving (regular ice cream makes me feel like crap)

I eat about a kilo of Greek yogurt every 8-10 days. I love FAGE. Others like Chobani. Ditto replacing sour cream with Greek yogurt. i mainly eat it with fresh fruit for breakfast and that can take me easily to lunch time.
Tzatziki- the greek yogurt sauce made with garlic, shredded cucumber and dill
    Chocolate/PEanut butter and banana:
    1 banana
    2 tbs cocoa powder
    2 tb PB2 (don't add water)

    Create! Invent and have fun!

I love it with a banana chopped up and stirred in!

My husband pours some over mueseli and chopped fruit (which he picked up in Germany)

I use it also to make mushroom stroganoff - fry onions, mushrooms, diced potatoes, red peppers, add some water or stock and simmer, then finally stir in some yoghurt with a spoonful of flour stirred in it, serve over rice or pasta or baked potato, and you can add grated cheese on top! (No idea the calories, I've never cooked it since I've been counting! But obviously you could adapt it to reduce them!)

Also when we make fajitas we use it instead of soured cream (because it's in the fridge really but it's just as nice)

I make it with either pickles or capers and sometimes I add dill with the capers

    Dill Relish or capers
    Pickle or caper juice

I get made fun of for eating greek yogurt with basically every meal. I use it with tuna to make tuna or egg salad (taste basically the same as with mayo), as "sour cream" with mexican-style dishes (my fav is spicy quinoa with chorizo, black beans, salsa, various veggies and avocado), for breakfast with some honey and fruit, in fruit/protein smoothies...

I would recommend Fage full-fat, plain yogurt -- no added sugar or flavors and it's very filling.

I am obsessed with my new breakfast: I added a tablespoon of unsweetened cocoa to 1 cup of yogurt and about a tsp of honey and really whipped it up with my spoon. It tastes like chocolate moose and I added fresh blueberries with a side of extra protein. <--- Life changing.

Simple rule of thumb....anywhere you would use "sour cream", switch to "plain greek yogurt"

    And mayo.

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/pasta-with-yogurt-sauce/detail.aspx -- I usually cut the amount of pasta in HALF so there is more sauce.

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/turkish-style-eggs/detail.aspx -- I usually reduce the butter, because it just doesn't need that much.

I add dry ranch mix (look online for a recipe, it's very easy to do on your own and you can adjust to your tastes) and thin with water for salad dressing. For taco salad I'll do part ranch, part taco seasoning.
  • Chicken salad with greek yogurt:

8 oz cooked chicken breast diced (I used the costco prepared stuff in the bag)
1/2 C fat free greek yogurt
1 slice (about 1/4 cup) diced onion
    1 stalk diced celery (optional)
    1/2 diced apple (optional)
    1T yellow mustard
    1T lemon juice
    1T Tarragon
    Salt and pepper to taste

Great by itself or on a sandwich/wrap or over green salad..
