I wish I knew what I ate to upset myself so much!

sorry for the TMI, but I've been feeling awful the last couple of days with constipation, diarrhoea and eye-watering gas, and I have no idea what I've eaten to cause it. I've eaten very similar things every day for the past few days and haven't introduced any new food to my life in ages!
I'm vegetarian, I haven't had massive amounts of dairy in months, I don't really eat bread much at all, and I've been off the booze for a few weeks now.
Ideas?

Onions? Especially red onions? I have been having essentially the same problem, and I am vegan. I have finally narrowed it down to onions, and i think it is the red ones that I causing me problems. I have spoken with a plant based dietician, and she said onions are frequently the culprit. I tend to eat quite a bit of them. She suggested I start by eliminating the red ones and see if that helps. Also, cooked onions tend to cause less probelms than raw ones.0

I'm a vegetarian also and recently discovered that soy causes this for me...I didn't realize how bad it was til I tried to drink soy milk. Also quinoa...I ate it a few times and was fine but then suddenly it made me feel very sick to my stomach. Good luck figuring it out! I feel much better now that I have eliminated those things.0

nope. I rarely eat much onion, and certainly haven't had much at all in recent weeks. I could understand it if I'd changed something recently, but I haven't eaten anything out of the ordinary in a while!
I'm wondering if its some combination of my normal foods, because I'm pretty uninventive so have three or so lunch options and three or so dinner options that I eat every single day!0 -
maybe you just have a stomach bug?
Yep, could just be viral, which may or may not have been attached to something you ate.0 -

Lots of stomach bugs going round. I wouldthink it would be that if you have not eaten anything new.0

It's probably a little virus.
Make sure that you drink a lot of water... dehydration can cause constipation. And if you have diarrhea, it causes dehydration so... take care of yourself hydration wise! To deal with the constipation and if you can get the product where you live, I suggest Senokot. It is a mild laxative that works very well. It works its magic overnight so you do not have a tendency to poo yourself during the day. Very convenient...
If you don't feel better the next few days, I would suggest that you see a doctor.0 -
That's true. I've been so focused on my diet recently that the idea of it being something other than food related didn't even cross my mind!
thanks for the reality check0 -
Kale.
All the kale eaters' farts kill small puppies and squirrels.0
