    Ask him repeatedly and with excitement if he wants to go out, then go take a nap on the couch.

    What I do with my cat is tell him that I have no time to feed him because I'm leaving for work, and that my wife will feed him.

    It's like April fools everytime, because she never does.

    I dunno about that one, that's even more mean than tricking him into eating hot sauce. He gets so excited and runs to sit at the door so we can put his leash on. I think my heart would actually break seeing the disappointment in his eyes.

    My miniature Schnauzer was my shadow. Sometimes I'd get far enough ahead that I'd spook him at a corner.
