Lesson I learned last night upon realizing I'm having a real hard time since I don't eat meat (other than seafood) getting enough calories without eating too much fat.....

Beer is high in calories and contains 0% fat. Also 1 can or bottle a day flushes out your organs and keeps them healthy as long as you aren't a lush. And I love me some "Not Your Father's Ginger Ale. Looks like my avoiding beer is really pointless and not helping me. Also I realize the beer I mentioned probably contains a good amount of sugar. Definitely taking that into consideration.

:# VIVA LA BEER!

I subbed all of my alcohol with vodka/soda water/flavour shots as a mixed drink, way low calorie for a magnificent buzz. But there was a time when I drank beer and maintained weight, it works so long as you don't work out a lot. I found myself rather dehydrated more often, so it was dangerous to work out without pulling something. Weekend vodkas for me.

I'd be glad to help if I confused you! When I look at my nutrition of the diet I eat everyday, I usually go over on fat and sugar when I end up hurrying and eating the most healthy thing I can find to eat last minute to reach my calorie goal. I am a pescetarion, meaning the only meat I eat is seafood. Most vegetarian meals are low in calories. So I have troubles eating 1200 calories a day without going over my fat goal nutritionally. The point is that When researching 0% fat foods etc, I found that beer has no fat and is high in calories. So it is a good substitute! And I'm excited about it! I agree with @Kkallisti, I'd better stay hydrated.

I prefer to drink in rum. If it's clear it means it has no additives so it's clean eating too.

Beer is high calorie enough that it is a sometimes thing for me. Wine daily, beer occasionally.

Last year, I made room in my diary to have a hefeweizen with breakfast every morning after my cardio workout. And I lost weight at a planned rate. I've read it gives you a 20-30% reduction in muscle inflammation as well :)

Now that I'm on low carbs, I just substitute beer for scotch on the daily

That is super cool! Who knew. Society frowns against it so much and those who use it irresponsibly can make it look bad. But Good to hear a success story! This excitement must be the partial Irish in my genes! lol

Don't know if I could do that. Haha my acid reflux would be punching me in the chest. lol The only thing is, and I may be wrong, but doesn't vodka and clear liquids have lower calories?
