Just keeping swimming...

Howdy! I started this weight loss journey a little over 3 months ago, and I have lost around 45 pounds. I am still quite shocked at how quickly I was able to lose weight! CICO, all the way!
With that being said, when I look in the mirror, I don't know if it's just my mind playing tricks on me, but I thought that 185 would look differently on me! When I first started, my goal weight was 175, but wait..that's only 10 less pounds from my current weight. In my mind, 175 just looked differently on me. I've got a large frame btw. Don't get me wrong, I am super happy with my weight loss journey so far, but mentally, it's hard as heck to keep going when there isn't a finish line in sight. Maybe my goal should be to be in the "normal" BMI range instead of a number on the scale? Ugh. Oh! I got into a size 10 yesterday, and that was super motivating. Maybe a pant size goal?! I just need..a finish line to work towards that will not disappoint me like my mirror does. I don't know if this is making any sense. Just venting I suppose
Can anyone relate?

I am just starting my journey. Your situation resonated with me as our numbers are close. I'm 222. Whew, I have never said that to anyone. My first goal is under 200. Any tips? How were you so successful at your weight liss0

Congrats on starting the journey! Well, if you stick with your calorie limits, your first 22 will be off in a breeze! First, I'd calculate your BMR- that will give you an estimate of how many calories your body naturally burns at rest. So when you have a bad day- just make sure you don't eat over that calorie limit. There are a ton of BMR calculators on the net. I try to eat between 1200 and 1400 calories a day with protein at every meal. Also, I haven't had one "cheat" day or meal since I started because I'm just "cheating" myself. Also because I know one cheat will turn into two and two will turn into a whole bag of chips. Baha. You know the drill! Food tips- find super low-cal snacks between meals like pickles, yogurt (60 calorie ones at krogers), cheese sticks (50 calories- I think the brand is Frigo), um..fruits and oh, a tablespoon of the whipped Jiffy peanut butter is very smearable and goes a long way for about 70 calories lol I craved PB like crazy when I first started. Think I was craving the fat. Good grief! This is a long reply! Baha I could go on.0
