Carbs & Wanting More

I ate a Little Ceasars pizza (deep dish square) for lunch yesterday and 2 hours later I was wanting more food. Has this happened to you? I ended up eating a boiled egg and that fixed my wanting more food problem. Does eating Carbs want you to have more Carbs?

I'm not sure. I had a peek in your diary - the amount of energy from fat is equal to the energy from carbs. The energy from protein is 17%: Maybe that's too little for you. Or maybe it just tasted good so you wanted more? And 2 hours isn't that long between meals0

Yes, carbs to me - well most aside from oatmeal, fruits and veggies are empty in terms of satiety. They taste great and at the time of consumption make me full, but shortly after it feels like I am back at square one again. Oats, veggies and fruit provide me with fiber but aside from that yes carbs do the same thing for me hence why I want and have been substituting healthy fat, fiber and protein for those empty carbs.0

@llbrixon you must be the only one with that question.
At age 65 I had the same question until 1.5 years ago. I had wrecked my health on carbs. One called for another so I kept eating them.
Carbs or rather 'processed' carbs will shoot up our hormone level of Insulin so we want to eat more carbs as I understand it. Sadly if we are eating every 2-4 hours keeping up our Insulin levels we can not successful burn fat ever so no weight loss can happen regardless how low our calories may be.
Now if you had first eating the pizza calories by eating six boiled eggs do you think you would have been hungry in two hours?The eggs are full of good protein and weight losing fats.

I reckon a deep dish pizza has more grease than carbs. At least add some veggie toppings for fiber. Or have a side salad.0

Yes. If I eat a bagel, I end up being more hungry after I eat the dang thing. Pizza is delicious but it doesn't "hit the spot" per se. I'd need to over eat it to feel truly satisfied.0

Yep, carbs have the same affect on me, particularly cereal type carbs. For some people, what you're feeling is normal.0
