Tachycardia and HRM

So I am considering investing in a Heart Rate Monitor to gauge how many calories I'm burning during cardio, especially as MFP's log and machines are usually way off, but I have a problem:
I am tachy, my heart consistently beats too fast, but not so fast that my doctor will prescribe anything. I struggle to keep my HR under 100 to donate blood or plasma.
So will a HRM be off for me? Or will it still be accurate?

How do you know MFP database (based on METS) and what may be multi thousand dollar machines are inaccurate?
Why do you believe a $50 device designed to tell you your pulse and which can't actually measure energy will be more accurate?
As your HR is way above average a HRM is even more inappropriate.0
