TDEE Help

Hi everyone,
I've been reading a couple of posts today and there has been a lot of talk about TDEE.
While I've calculated mine (2484) I'm wondering if someone could explain this a little more.
I'm 225lbs currently and would like to lose 60 to be in the normal range of BMI. So if I am correct in my calculations and from what people have posted on here - I should be eating 1800 calories + a day??
MFP suggests that I eat 1700 calories in order to lose 1 lb per week.
Hopefully someone can clear this up for me. Any help is appreciated!
Thanks
