Working out sore muscles

I've just started being 110% commited to my weight loss journey and started strength training at home this past Saturday, doing a series of weighted squats, lunges etc and working on my upper body as well, because that strength is serious lacking.
I took Sunday off to rest, but still did my usual walking for about 4 miles and my legs hurt so bad where I was wishing I had the handicap bars in my bathroom to help lower myself down since I've increased my water intake as well, I feel like I'm in there all day peeing, tmi sorry.
But the question is, should i take another day off again today even if I'm still sore or power through it and suck it up buttercup?

If you're hurting so bad you can't lower yourself to the toilet, you might want to just take a day off. Rest days are important, and you're hardly slacking if you need more than one. I started lifting heavy after reading a thread about it on here and I was so sore I needed three before I could lift again.0
