Keep your deficit reasonable for the amount of weight you have to lose.
Strength training of some sort will help you lose more inches then cardio alone. It helps preserve your existing muscle mass so that most of your loss comes from fat (if combined with adequate protein intake and a reasonable deficit). I personally like to lift heavy (makes me feel strong and powerful), but you can also do body weight exercises or any other strength/resistance training. Whichever you like best.
Do cardio you enjoy. If you don't like running; then don't run. There's always dancing, jump rope, cardio boxing, walking, etc. You can also bypass cardio all together if you don't like any form of it.
    Have patience.

That's awesome that with strength training you achieved your goals, and it's also super motivating to me because I enjoy strength training over cardio, but keep hearing that cardio is best for weight loss. Well you're living proof that strength training is just as good for weight loss as well, and not just for gaining muscle  Thank you for sharing (^^,)
Also, hope you don't mind me adding you

Following. I want to be around 130ish, maybe to higher 120s depending on how/where the weight comes off.
