Hi Guys - I need advice about macros. I am currently doing Jaimie Eason's Livefit 12 week program and I am trying to figure out my macros. I am currently at a weight of 154.8 and on low-carb days I am supposed to eat 1400-1600 calories - high carb days will be 1600-1900. I currently have my macros set at 50% protein, 30% fat and 20% carbs. I want to get as lean as possible - do you think these macros are okay? I am 5' 8" and have a goal weight of 140.
1400 - 1600 calories:
200 protein
80 carbs
53 fat

1600-1900
238 Protein
95 carbs
63 fat

Any help is GREATLY appreciated!!!

Very little fat and very much protein IMO. Sure it'll work - if you can do it. What counts is that you stick to the calories. If this macro split helps you do that, great.

You aren't really having high carb/low carb days when the ratio is the same every day ;)

To me that seems like an insane amount of protien.... I'm a big believer in 1 gram of protien per pound of lean body weight. To me your carbs seem pretty low especially if one day is supposed to be high carb.

That being said high protien isn't bad, I'm just saying maybe not necessary, your body only needs so much protien.

I think for low carb you should decrease protien a bit and increase fat. On the high carb days lower protien increase carbs.

For weight loss the most important thing will be your calorie deficit. And while you're in that deficit doing strength training and having adaquet protien will help your weight loss come from fat not muscle.

That protein is high. If you want high protein, stick closer to 1g per pound of body weight or something. You're not getting much benefit going above that and it's expensive.
