If my TDEE is 2,145....

Does this mean that I will lose on anything less than that?
I've been aiming to eat 1500 calories per day. Appropriate?

    Yup! At that rate you'd lose about 1.25 pounds a week, which is on the aggressive side - if you don't have a good amount to lose you might need to raise your calories a bit but that's definitely in the reasonable range.

    Be patient. My rough calculation indicates it will take you over 14 months to lose all 80. Along the way you will experience frustrating gains and mysterious plateaus. Commit to persisting in the calorie deficit despite the frustrating mysteries of this journey and you will succeed.
