Not really sure where to post this..
Okay so first of all, this women has had GREAT success. She knows what she is doing..
After following her on her youtube channel, I came across her site. She coaches!!
She has different program lengths but the one I am interested in is the 32 week which in months is 8, 32 weeks of personalized macro/cardio manipulation.
Now you get her # for questions or concerns. You get weekly goals..
What I really want from this is the knowledge. I have about 100 pounds to lose and I'm starting from basically scratch. I want to someday own the weight room. I have seen great success with people that follow macros..
So please what do you think...

It will be worth it for some, not for others. It just depends on you.
Personally, I hired a coach to train for a figure competition. She was local but she would send me my programs and meal plans. She was at my gym so if I had a question. I hold ask her but most of our communication was online.
I also currently have a triathlon coach. I hired him to help me train for my first half ironman and kept him after.
In my case, I do very well with structured programs when I have a goal. I tend to get overwhelmed with the small details and having a plan eliminated that. The fact I am paying money and reporting to someone makes me more likely to do the work. In both cases I was successful.
Right now I am struggling even though I have a coach though. I don't have a specific goal and still trying to balance life and going back to work. I'm probably still doing better than I would be if I didn't have a coach.
So basically for me it is worth it.0 -

Simply, no. You can get the same advice watching YouTube videos, in my humble opinion.0

I loathe watching YouTube videos. They don't personalize my workouts or meal plans. They don't adjust my workouts when I need it. They don't give me race strategies, they don't tell me I should be able to run this race at a specific pace (that I think is too fast) and then have me go out and nail it. Sure, I could figure out how to find my own HR zones and how to best use them to improve but a lot of that stuff is just too technical for me to follow and I get bored.
I would NEVER do the tough workouts either of them gave me on my own. I probably wouldn't have done the easy (recovery) workouts either.
YouTube doesn't give me feedback on my workouts and talk me through my bad performances.

To add, both of my coaches gave me a lot of info that would have taken me a very long time to learn on my own.0

I have a coach...but he's in person which is vastly different from having an on-line coach. My coach does some on-line coaching, but that coaching is reserved for some of his high caliber athletes, some of which are professionals. They just need him for his knowledge and training protocols as well as progress monitoring...they already know how to put in the work and how to push themselves beyond what "normal" people would do and they know form and technique, etc.
Personally, I'm not sure how much benefit the average person is going to get from online coaching...0 -

I guess it would depend on the type of coach. I outlined how I felt it benefitted me above. Although for lifting my "online" coach was local and worked at my gym so I could go to her for form questions.0 -
Everyone, thank you so much on your feedbacks.
I am MORE confused than before LOL..
No I'm kidding. I wish I could find someone local that isnt a bank breaker because yes a person, in person would be much easier. However, now that I have had some feedback, I think I could use the help.
I hear that what I am doing is too much by having a calorie goal of 1400 and strictly cardio is over doing it. But had I had a coach I could be pointed in the right direction.
Luckily, I have time to think..0 -

@iLiveLoveFitness - what exactly were you looking for? I mean, regardless of what the coach tells you there is always someone who will tell you something different. There is no one way of doing things.
Hopefully, with a coach you find someone that you can trust and rely on their information. Unfortunately even coaches have bad advice too.
