Does anyone have luck using the suggested calorie goal? My recommend goal is 3400, and I personally shoot for 1300-1700. I don't think I would have had any luck if I would have followed the app.

MFP + Fitbit Adjustments have worked just fine for me (I average around 1900-2000 calories per day for 0.5 lbs per week loss).

Do you have your activity level set correctly?

As a male you shouldn't net under 1,500. Being 2,000 under goal on a daily basis sounds pretty extreme. Hopefully your logging is just way off.

How did you get 3400 as a goal? You're either 33/34 and a male. What are your height, weight, and activity level?

I am 33, 6'6" currently 240 with high activity level at work. My logging is pretty close. I have been loosing around 2lbs/ week. Should I dial back the activity level to get some thing more realistic or just keep to my personal goals?

Mine is 1700. I stay under but not losing too fast. I think MFP thought my exercise was more exerting but for now it's just some decent sized walks.

I have mine set to the lowest for a female, which is 1200. I pretty much stay on or around it. From 1k-1.4k depending on how I'm feeling that day/how hungry I am/how much exercise I get in.
