So I'm thinks big about getting a Fitbit watch to count my steps but I do loads of typing at work will the wrist movement give a false reading?

I have a Charge HR. I have heard people say they get credit for steps from hand movement, but I have never had that happen. The reverse seems to be true for me. When I use the elliptical it misses a lot of steps, also when shopping and pushing a cart, it misses steps. I put mine in my pocket now when I am shopping or at the gym.0
