Working out seems harder now?

Hello! Quick review, I have lost 30 pounds since I've been a member. About 8 months ago, I started jillian michaels programs for exercise. In January I started a 90 day program of hers, Bodyshred, which is a lot of HIIT training, light weights (I use 10-15s) planks, pushups, burpees etc. I recently finished the program and I'm restarting it. But the past several weeks I've also really brought up my activity level. I started running again. and whether it's walking or running, I reach 5-8 miles a day. but I notice when I work out with my videos, it seems really hard. within a few minutes of planks or push ups, i'm shaking, and i totally use mind over matter, but sometimes i actually have to stop. My balance seems way more off than it was, which I don't really have a timeline for. I've read about shaky muscles and off balance and form and all that, and I kind of know this already, been at this awhile lol, but when I work out, I know i'm pushing myself but it feels harder. Like I can't do as many reps or can't stay balanced as long or whatever it may be.
I don't know if this means i'm pushing myself too hard in general and i'm not giving my muscles time to recover. I work out at 3-4x a week. Or if maybe using heavier weights is throwing me off since I recently started doing that. I also redid my profile for mfp. I restarted my weight from where i'm at now and what my new goal is. Redid my activity level to 'active' because I am. I know I did have it set at 'moderate' or a little lower, but I wanted to be accurate this time. And it raised my calorie goal to 1900 calories. Which is really hard to eat. I probably still maintain 1500 a day so then I started wondering if I wasn't eating enough? I have tried drinking a smoothie and a lot of water before I work out now to see if that changed anything or if I felt like I had more energy, but it didn't really do anything.
Any advice or am I reading into this too much?

Hey!
How did you like Bodyshred, I am considering purchasing.
It sounds to me like you might be pushing yourself a little too much, if you are losing form in your exercises that could lead to injury - stay safe! If you are exercising a lot I would say eating more is a good plan - you need to fuel your body for these intense workouts, especially if you are running long distances and doing a dvd too.
I think that is a great idea to try adding a shake or smoothie if you find eating more challenging - have you seen any better results now that it's been a few weeks since your post?

From what I understand, you should be consuming 1900 to cut, but lucky to hit 1500?
If that's the case then yes, eat a little more. If not... try taking a week off. You can't go week after week after week of working out and expect the body to keep up.
I deload every other week when I lift (only lift 50% of my max).
If eating more and resting for a WHOLE WEEK doesn't work... it's probably something else.0 -
Are you eating and drinking enough otherwise! Are you under a lot of stress at home or on the job?0

Hey guys. For times sake, I'll just reply to all of you. I have been under some stress but a new medication has helped. I did start eating more but I started listening to my body a little more the past couple weeks I think. And it said I'm hungry and tired. Lol. That has helped tremendously. I also changed my workout routine, so I still do heavy days but I started adding yoga and pilates to help stretch my muscles which has also tremendously helped so I've noticed more energy when I do harder workouts or runs.
Oh and bodyshred is awesome! Seriously get it!0 -
So you added running and increased the weights you were using?
Seems perfectly logical you would be more tired as you are adding additional stresses.1 -
Are you getting enough sleep? How is your stress management? Are you earing enough calories and/or protien? Sleep and stress play a bigger role than most people realize.0
