So I Did a 5k..But

Having a stroke, and a permanent limp makes it impossible for me to run or jog without tripping over my own feet. I have pretty much accepted this for what it is, and it's fine. I can keep up, or destroy anyone on an elliptical as the motion is fine for my stroke leg. But t becomes boring. My 5k time was a little over 45 min. There are muscles in my right foot that will never recover properly near my ankle. (over 2 years of PT)
So my question is, What are some additional things one can do while walking briskly, besides weights that can help be beneficial and not boring?

Thank in advance!

45 mins is actually pretty decent for your first 5K, regardless. Mine was about that time and I have no physical issues as such.

There is a zombie App that you might be able to do on the elliptical. Its called Zombie Run and there is also a group on here if you are interested as I know some people have done it on treadmills/bikes before.

I'm injured (Achilles) and you're just slightly faster than my current pace. And my uninjured pace isn't much faster. Yeah, we're slow but we've got great endurance.

To answer your question, have you tried audio books?

Keep going. Eventually you will develop your own way of getting faster. 45 minutes is a great time for someone who has issues with their forms. Great job!
