Dessert lovers, how do you control yourself at..

Family dinners/ buffets! I just lose all control when a ride variety of desserts is placed in front of me! I try a little but of everything! And that adds up when you are trying 10 different things! I will do perfectly fine with all my other meals, but when I hit the end of the table......game over! Lets just say, I ate around 1,300 calories in just desserts today!

I'm freaking out because lately I have been horrible! Everyday this past week I've went over my calories because of desserts. Last night it was cupcakes, before that apple pie...before that Golden Corral...yeah.

I feel the pounds packing back on and in freaking out! Help!

If I couldn't stop myself from sampling a bit of everything then I would not even go to the dessert table.

When attending events that can be food-centric I plan ahead what I'll let myself have as close as possible to what I'm guessing will be on offer.
For dessert this means one small portion of just one dessert. I also visualize in my head a few hours before arriving how I will walk past the temptations. That way I've practiced the way I want the meal to go.

Look in my purse at the photo of me at my heaviest (47kg ago) and at the start of this journey (22.5kg ago)..... OR i look at the options and get the lowest calorie... or BYO.

It's hard, for sure. Desserts of pretty much any kind are my weakness. If I'm really REALLY craving something, I'll have a small bit of it. Or I'll just ask my fiance for a bite of his. Maybe ask a family member for a bite of theirs so you can try it but know you won't have more than a bite? Or, like others have said, bring your own!

I sample only the items that I could not replicate at home if i wanted to--that usually narrows it down to a couple of very special things...and if I taste and they are not worth the calories, I don't finish them.

At buffets I ignore the dessert island. At work potlucks, etc., I avoid that end of the table. Unfortunately I am not a one bite person. Even if I find it 'ok', I find it too hard to stop after one bite.
