Has anyone heard of this?

OK, so I'm about 4 days late to do the whole of July, but thought now is better than never.
I don't really drink much, in fact it's a pretty rare occurrence but was thinking maybe a chocolate-free July would be a good challenge?
Does anyone else want to join in, and give up something (be it booze, *kitten*, sugar) for the rest of this month?

Dry July is pretty popular in Australia (where it started). I am doing it because there are days when I drink half of my calories - especially on weekends. So far, so good.0

I am doing it because of what it represents
However, it doesnt hurt to detox your body annually by not drinking for a month
