Have the scales ever done anything really weird for you?
This morning had a cup of coffee only, getting ready for a shower so nothing on, stepped on the scales, and (wishful thinking) the number is 138.6. Go back to the bedroom to get forgotten towel, things settle into place, use the bathroom, and wondering what that monster weighed, step on the scales again. 138.8. WHAT!??? How is that even possible? (it's not)

I'm going to say that happens to probably 99% of people. Bodies fluctuate a lot. Like a lot. You could probably weigh yourself 10 times in an hour and get different numbers.0

Yes! I weigh myself, first thing in the morning, after my morning "bathroom" and completely naked... then I take a shower, and just for curiosity sake weigh myself again and the scale is up a bit (usually only like .1/.2 but still). That's why I take the first reading of the morning as my weight (unless I have a large bowel movement shortly after, LOL *TMI*)!
It doesn't bother me though, I know it's normal for our bodies to do that, but it is weird how it increases in such a short amount of time!0 -
I have a digital scale that is finicky. That's probably what I get for buying a $25 scale.
I always make sure it's in the same place. I always weigh in the same amount of clothing, before eating or drinking anything. Tare out the scale by getting it to 00.
Then I weigh three times in succession. The first one is frequently different than the next two, and they're only 10 seconds apart!0 -
Also, home scales are on the relatively cheap side. That 0.2 lbs represents a change of less than 0.2% of your body weight and probably less than 0.1% of the scale's full scale capacity. My understanding is that the resolution on most of these scales is nowhere near that good, so manufacturer's use little tricks to smooth out the readings.0

Yes!
One time I gained weight overnight. Yes I know water has a weight (a glass is probably ~.5 lb) but I did not even drink a glass throughout the night, peed several times, and was up 2 lbs in the morning. Bonkers. Who even knows. I honestly just laugh when crazy stuff like that happens, most times it's perfectly explainable.
[joke]You sure you didn't gain any muscle mass while you were on the toilet?[/joke]

My old scale was sensitive to exactly how I stood on it. I forget which way made me weigh more versus less, but how I positioned my feet on the scale made a small difference in the readout.0

This is how it for me. Some times I even gain after voiding my bladder. My weight varies 3-5 lbs a day.0

It was the "squatting" down... it built some more muscle in her thighs, therefore causing the weight gain, LOL!
