I just starting c25k this week. Day 1 was tough but I made it. Today I did day 2, I finished it but a little over half way I got a really bad side stitch. It still hurts. Since I'm new to running I would like to know if there is anyway to avoid it. Thanks!

got it when I first started C25K....it was worse if I did it within 3 hours of eating. Just try to make sure you haven't just ate. And it gets easier I remember thinking how hard the first week was now I'm on week 5 and running 3 minutes is nothing (it's a big achievement for me, maybe not for others).0

So glad to hear you like it. At this point its just excitement... its not like I LOVE it yet (which I hope I get there, I really want to). It MAY be because I ate about a hour before I did it though, I have to work my workout around my son sleeping since I do it on the treadmill (running outside isn't an option right now). The first day I did it I didn't eat for awhile before I started running.0 -

That could be it. If it didn't happen the first time you ran. I'd just try to make sure it was on an empty stomach. Can you get up before him and do it before he wakes up then eat.0 -
If you are going to eat anything before a run, make it a banana. Potassium really helps and its light. Drink plenty of water was well
Sexy mama keep it up!

Side stitches can be caused by erratic breathing. Try to breathe deep, 3 steps in through your nose and 3 steps out through your mouth.0
