I really want to start jogging, I've lost over 4st but still have around 10 stone to go.
My fitness level have increased so much over the last 3 months. I also give up smoking 4 months ago.
I want to start jogging but I don't even know were to begin.
I know I'll probably jog for 10 seconds and pass out!! Haha!
Anyone have any tips how to start.
I was going to try 30 seconds jogging 3 minutes walking, is that good to start or do you have any other idea's?

If you're comfortable with continuous walking for 30 minutes then Couch to 5K is a good pace to start, and works for many.
Structured run/ walk intervals over a 9 week plan to get you to 30 minutes of continuous running.
Take it easy, run at a pace that you can talk a couple of sentences at a time and take short steps.0 -

It's a training plan of structured run/ walk intervals intended to get you to 30 minutes of continuous running.
There are several apps, or podcasts that you could download.0 -

Cool Running Site has a good layout of the C25k plan: http://www.coolrunning.com/engine/2/2_3/181.shtml
This site has it broken down (by time) for a treadmill: http://www.c25k.com/c25k_treadmill.html
Also, there is an app by Zen Labs (search app store for C25k) that is free and has all the workouts and tells you when to run and walk.
There are other programs to use but I didn't use them, so I can't say how good they are.
Good luck! I used C25k to get into running and have never looked back Really helped me.0 -
Aww great thank you. I'll have a look through them all x0

Yep! Couch to 5k is great. You might get to a point when you've run for a while that you just listen to yiye body and run when it feels good, take small walking breaks, and get back to running. I've done that and I've seen faster running progress than with the set programs. Also, running in a treadmill will save you wear and tear on your joints, so its good to start there if you have access to one.Good luck! Running is super rewarding and tones you!0

or a learn to run at a local running store. Usually very easy to start. And the camaraderie is good.0
