I'm trying to figure out how to maintain my weight has anyone maintained their weight for a long period of time can you help me

    You need to figure out your maintenance calories. A good way to do this is start with a certain amount of calories and each week weigh yourself. If your weight decreases then you're under maintenance. If if increases you're above maintenance and if it stays the same then there you go. Youve found it

    Yes, 3 years at maintenance - it takes a while to figure out your own TDEE, what rate have you been losing at up til now? that will give you a good guideline to how much you can add.

    Four years maintenance. I just kept logging and hitting my calorie goals. It isn't hard. It just takes persistence.

    Another thing to try is reverse dieting; you slowly add back cals until you are no longer losing weight. Saw this in one of the other threads on this site. That way you're not shocking the body by adding a whole bunch of cals at one time. I'd start with 100 or so and work my way up. Sometimes what MFP (or some other site) says what your maintenance cals should be may not be right for an individual. Do what works for you. Good luck. B)
