one thing I've recently learned that's important

I'm trying to maintain whilst upping calories whilst learning to not be ruled by the scales and this is hard work.
Some days I am so frustrated that I can't do it when I could lose the weight so easily.
The biggest thing I've realised is that to listen to ourselves and to our body and not to others who may mean well but our instincts and us alone have lost the weight and it's up to us to do the rest.
Life is too short and I've worked so hard and lost 16 and a half stone, I've put a bit on recently which has scared me to be honest but if I want pizza or some alcohol or chocolate I need to realise it's ok and I won't get fat again

The transition period between the weight loss phase and maintenance can be really tough. Not only are you trying to figure out your new plan, but there's a lot of mind games that go on during this period as well. It took me about six months to get through it and settle into maintenance and it was rough!

I'm so glad it's not just me that's finding it hard .it's been about 2 months so far and I admit I'm struggling

I've not hit maintenance yet so can't offer advice at this point, but just wanted to congratulate you on your 231 lbs loss <3

I completely disagree about listening to your body. Well, yours maybe, but mine is a lying PoS. Just saying.

That being said, I agree, go by what your body looks more than the scale (still struggling with that myself). And find something that is sustainable... a life without pizza or chocolate sure isn't for me!

I agree with mind games. The transition from losing to pregnancy was a pretty big mind-eff for me.

It takes time to adjust. Just as it did when I first began losing weight. It's a transition. That's why patience is so important, whether you're losing, gaining or maintaining.

These are all really good things to hear right now.
I know that having a bar of chocolate or pizza won't undo all my hard work especially because my willpower is still so strong buy my mind is still a bit behind my body at the moment.
Saying that I really fancy some chocolate right about now and don't even know why I'm not giving in
