1500 calorie people!

What experience have you had eating this much?
Did you do very little to no exercise to lose weight or did you have to workout more?..And how much did you lose a week?
(I feel like I have to stick to 1200 to lose weight)But I would like to up it if anyone has had success.

I think you will find some very helpful information to answer your questions in the group "eat more to weigh less". Here's a link that will take you directly to some of those postings, http://www.myfitnesspal.com/topics/show/940504-anyone-gain-weight-while-eating-under-at-their-bmr

It's going to depend how much you have to lose, how active you are, how old you are, how tall you are...So it varies

I made mine 1450 and am doing great with it! Food wise i am hardly hungry as I try to eat ever 2 - 3 hours and hardly go over! I do exercise but not too much and have had steady loss so far! I think this is the best desicion I have made since I was at 1200 and that was unbearable.

I've been on 1600-1700 / day since May 28th. My BMR was in the 2400-2600 range when I first started. It is allright, I have been working out aswell (not noticing any significant drop in load during weightlifting). Sure it can be though at times but really load up on veggies to get the sensation that you are full when you have eaten.

Note: I have had a few beers on a friday and even participated in the great swedish midsummer feast but these minor setbacks haven't diverted me from my original long term goal nor have they stopped me in my tracks.

EDIT: I'm a male in the early 20's, that could contribute to the rapid weightloss so far. (180 cm, 5'11)

I am a 28 year old female, 5'6" started at 278 pounds and did 1200 calories for 3 months, then I upped it to 1400-1600 on my dieticians recommendation. I feel full, I exercise a couple times a week, and I seem to be losing at a steady rate. I am now down almost 60 pounds since Feb 15th. I think it's working pretty well for me.
  • Oops!i guess I did forget to put my stats.
    18,5'5 & 132 pounds.I have 21 to lose.

5'6.5, 167 currently, 30+ to lose and I eat 1500+exercise calories, which usually reaches 1600-1800. I have tried more and I have tried less. More I maintained, less I binged, so this seems to be about right. I am losing slowly, but I am never hungry and don't feel too full so hopefully this works for me.

    5'7" here.

When I started this process in February on a different site, I was on 1500/day. I steadily lost 9-10 pounds per month. Then I came to MFP in late April and it said 1220/day, so I tried that for a bit, crept it up to 1410 in early June, and last week up to 1600 because I calculated my BMR as has been suggested on here so many times and realized I've kept it too low.

I thought I would initially gain a little on the calorie increase. I did...a fraction of a pound more on my Monday weigh in. I do two official weigh ins a week, today's I was down again.

So...my experience? 37 pounds down since the end of February, the majority of that time I have eaten more than 1200/day, and quite a bit was around 1500/day.

(I do eat back some of my exercise calories. I also think the estimates of burn are high on here, so I put in partial amounts of exercise; like, I bike for 20 minutes but only put down 15, etc.)
