Help! The fluctuations are driving me crazy!

It seems like every time I hit my goal weight.. I gain 2 lbs overnight and it takes me another 2 weeks to get back to my goal. What's the deal? Is anyone else experiencing this??

Fluctuations are completely normal. Most people try to maintain within a 5 lb range. Does this happen during ovulation or TOM? If so, that's completely normal too.

When you start losing weight, you first lose some glycogen. It's the quickest energy source for your body to use.
When you reach maintenance and start to eat at that level, the body quickly replenishes the glycogen and that could be 2-5 lbs or so. It's not a real weight gain but an adjustment. You won't notice that weight in appearance. Once your glycogen levels have rebuilt, your new weight is your maintenance weight.
Also, maintenance is a weight range, not an exact weight on the scale. That's a hard mindset to come around to. We're used to thinking in terms of an "ideal weight" but it's really an "ideal weight range".
Your 2 lbs are well within reason. You may gain more before learning what your true weight is at moment but it will level out. If you like what you see in the mirror, have patience. Congratulations on reaching maintenance.

That is why some people only weigh themselves once a week or once a month. Those of us that weigh ourselves mote iften expect the scale to go up and doen. By weigh ing myself, i can often guess when the scale will be up, even if I ate at deficate. Sidioum or carbs!or high smounts if stress or not enough fiber can cause the scale to go up.
