Newbie in NC

Retired Army Special Forces guy, let myself get out of shape...trying to lose 30 + lbs. I think I am a food addict but I keep it under control by restricting my access to food. Experimented last week with diet, logging, lifting but no cardio and still gained weight. Back to cardio this week....my next goal is to bust thru 240 lbs (currently at 245) on my way to 225.
