Lunch Break Workout -- Help!

Hi everyone.

I work at a university and have access to a free staff gym. I have gone a few times, but would like to establish a routine. The gym has cardio equipment, free weights, weight machines, stability balls, and other items. I have mostly just used the elliptical or stationary bike, but I would really like to incorporate some weight lifting into my routine.

I don't know where to start. I would like to put together a weekly workout schedule with some cardio and some lifting. My goal is to lose around 70 pounds, and I would like the lifting to help with lean muscle (extra calorie burn) and toning. When you started, did you have a schedule? What weight lifting routine did you have? What was the combination of cardio/lifting?

It takes almost 10 minutes for me to get to the gym and 10 minutes back, so I really only have 40 minutes to spare. I appreciate all the suggestions!

Hi. There is a great app called the seven minute workout, which can be done anywhere like your office, room etc. So you dont have to dash to the gym. Like my fitness pal, it keeps track of your log in days & every day its a different workout.
