Best Blender?

I am starting a protein shake breakfast and my current blender is not blending ice. What do you lovely people use as a blender? I'm not trying to spend an arm, my first born son, and both legs though. Under $100 would probably be best. Thank you !

Oster Heritage 400 blender. I love it. Also have a ninja blender it's a 1000W (not sure what it's called actually). They are both great for ice, smoothies, even making soups or nut butters.0

Thank you! I was looking at the ninja and I think it's a little much but the Oster is definitely a possibility.0

I have a ninja pulse that I love. I also got the nutribullet pro 900 deluxe as a gift but have not tried it yet. If you or anyone you know have a costco card, it just went on a coupon special for $69.99!

A blender is a blender - nutribullet, ninja, vitaminix or god only knows what else is trendy is just a good dose of marketing BS.
You need one that fits your requirement - blend only? Pulse? Ice / solid items?
For ice and / fruit you need a blender of 800W at least - generally for everyday use you can aim at 1000W.
Brand / model is irrelevant, just buy one that has a warranty!

No way! I had the Kenwood Smoothie2Go, and while functional, the Ninja Auto IQ is in a league of its own. A vast difference. The Ninja pulverises stuff right down that the Kenwood never could.0 -

That's a no brainer that proved my point in many ways - you went form 300W to 1000+W blender.0 -
I have an el-cheapo $15 deal that chops ice and frozen fruits perfectly. For some reason, it hates ice cream and I can't ever make a decent milkshake with it though.0

Why use ice at all? Use icy cold water or milks. No risk of ruining a blender.0

Save up your money and buy quality, not quantity - either a Vitamix or a Blentec.
I have a Vitamix and its the over $500 that I have spent - all because of quality, not quantity. You may not realize the connection until you actually bought the blender.0 -
Vitamix on sale at Costco right now. I think it was only $300 (think).
I wish I had it. I love to make hummus and bean dips.0 -

There are so many better things I would rather spend $500 on than a blender.1 -
I love my Ninja. I have the regular blender, the smoothie cups, and the food processor. I use it all the time. I couldn't justify the money for a Vitamix, but the Ninja is up there high on the list of blenders for performance and value.0

Yes, it's a lot of money and I use to think a lot like you, until I because educated - in the difference between quality and quantity0 -
I have an Oster and tried my mom's ninja and want one so bad!0

I use mine for everything: makes a beautiful banana bread, much better than kitchen aid. Home made hummus is so much better than store bought, like everything else that it made at home.0 -
We have the Ninja that comes with to-go cups that the blender blade screws right onto. I use these all the time, but rarely use the actual pitcher. So for us, a Nutribullet probably would have made more sense.0

I have the ninja pulse and the nutribullet or I would maybe try this at this price. Plus Costco doubles warranties and has an awesome return policy.

Vitamix for the win!0

For ice, there really IS a difference in blenders from the cheap stuff. You really need a good motor and blades for crushing ice.
I bought a Blendtec about a year ago. Definitely not cheap, but it wasn't the most expensive one out there, either. I think it was around $300. Totally worth it. I'm not really into smoothies so much, but it makes the smoothest frozen margarita you ever had - it's almost creamy.0 -
I used to use the Ninja and wasn't happy with it for smoothies(left them too chunky). I recently got the Nutribullet and it's working well. I've been able to eat one green smoothie a day and stay on my MFP plan.0

I like my ninja, but hear amazing things about the vitamix. Of course, it's not in your price range of your goal is under $100.0
-
Thank you all for the replies! I have decided to go with a ninja I think.0
-
Gave my Ninja to DD,then missed it for smoothies & bought a 2nd one & yes I use ice in every smoothie. It takes less than a minute till you are drinking a smoothie thru a straw. Worth the cost from BB&B......use a 20% off coupon.1

Returned my Vitamix. While it was very nice I just couldn't justify the price tag for a blender. I've had my Nutribullet for 3 years now and its still going strong.1
-
Breville Blend Active. We love it. Blends ice no problem, easy to clean.0
-
I have the Ninja and love it. I've even started experimenting with smoothies again, but the best thing is being able to use it for some things (like gazpacho) that I used to have to mess with the food processor for.1
