What are your favorite pre and post workout foods?

I get up at 5:15 AM and I'm at the gym for 6 AM -- so I'm trying to get a handle on what to eat before and after on my lifting days.

i fast overnight and before i hit the gym in the mornings, and only intake BCAA before my work-out. for after, i love alot of protein either in the form of a bar, or a protein rich meal with chicken and broccoli, or a protein shake.

I get up at 5 am and in the gym by about 530.

My pre-workout 1 cup oats and 2 cups frozen fruit (half strawberry/half blueberries). I toss it in the fridge the night before and then pop it in the mic when for a few minutes first thing.

My post-workout is usually eggs, cheese and 2 tbsp bbq sauce.

I usually do a light breakfast so I don't puke during early workouts lol. Usually a protein shake, banana, and 1 cup of overnight oats. Post workout another shake with my meal prep which is usually 4-6 oz of lean meat, 1 cup of rice or a sweet potato, and 1-2 cups of steamed vegetables!

Pre-workout, I like something with more carbs for extra energy. Post-workout, I like something with higher protein for recovery.

Food as soon as you wake up is very important because while you're sleeping your body is still feeding so a normal breakfast in the morning is the best thing to eat especially if you're going to work out. So if I was you, and I was working towards a greater physique or a stronger body I would wake up earlier to make sure I had time to eat a good breakfast eggs and oatmeal and then after your workout it depends on how long it's been since your last meal but I would go with a protein drink and a banana or 2 to restoy ur glycogen in your muscles around two hours from your last meal

I do the same. Fast from 4pm the day before a workout until afterwards. I feel great when I'm fasting-- others don't. The advantage (besides high energy feels) is that I can eat whatever post-workout along with something healthy. Typically it's morning time when i have this meal so pancakes, protein shake and yogurt is the go-to.
