Caloric deficit

I hate running but I've found its the only thing that has been helping get into a caloric deficit lately. If I don't run I only burn around 1500 calories a day and a deficit would put me around 1250 or so calories which I feel I am starving with that few of calories. Thoughts on this?? What kind of meals would give me the most fuel for the least calories?

I would focus on anything with a good amount of protein. It will really help keep you feeling fuller. Like Tuna for example it has a great amount of protein for a lower amount of calories.0

It's not necessarily the calories that you're eating, it's the source of the calories themselves. Eat nutrient dense foods that take your body longer to process, i.e. animal proteins, nuts and dairy products. If it's just that you're feeling hungry and not tired, it isn't the calorie deficit, it's just that your stomach is empty and wants something to fill it. You can always drink lots of water too as the signal for thirst can mimic the signals to the brain for hunger.
Protein sources give the most bang for the buck as they don't provide as much caloric energy as fats and carbs. It's an inefficient energy source taking your body more energy to break down than the other two sources. Grilled chicken, Turkey, Fish are the best. Don't drink your calories and rely on good old natural food sources.1 -
