Starting to feel like giving up...

I've been struggling ALOT lately, there's a ton of things going on currently and I'm just so tired lately and my husband seems to be heading that way faster. He comes home with crap food almost every day and it's tough to not eat it and I haven't, not one time. Just needing some support because I don't have a ton of family/friends support other than being told "It's hard to lose weight." Which is super annoying and discouraging at the same time. Just in need of real support, to push me to do what I need to. I need to lose this weight so I can be more active for my daughter and for my own health.

These moments happen. If you're tired you can meal prep a bunch of food in advance and freeze it in individual size meals. That's what I do and if I'm dead tired I have no excuse not to eat to my goals.1

I just didn't think it would start this early, the first time it took months and months to get to where I was just tired and I'm barely 2 months in and I really just dread the gym at the end of the day. I've been doing great with logging and staying within my calories. It's mostly just the gym that I'm struggling with making it to now. May have something to do with weighing myself and not being happy with what I saw and other stresses in life.0

Excellent! If the gym is stressing you out and you dread it then either change what you do there or don't go. Find activities elsewhere that you like. You say you want to be more active for your daughter. How old is she? Can you do things with her in the evenings? Go for a walk or go play at a play ground. Strict, regimented exercise isn't needed to be healthy.
And good for you for passing up the food you didn't want! It's empowering to learn that YOU have control over food and it doesn't control you. Keep it up! It will get easier.3 -
Maybe set some new goals that aren't weight loss related? Is there some fitness thing you enjoy or would like to try? Try to set up goals for yourself that are based on things you can accomplish rather than the scale weight which will be finicky and could fluctuate too much based on water/hormones. Could you get podcasts or audiobooks for your gym workout? Or buy music you really like? Or watch favorite shows on Netflix while you workout?0

That's an excellent idea, @Kimo159 - no real excuse for eating the "crap food" (and "crap" is a subjective term) if you already have something more suitable prepared.
OP, there's nothing wrong with giving in to a whine now and then, but don't give up! Yes, it is hard, and no, you won't be perfect every day (or even most days), but it's not impossible - and it's easier when you have some support! If you don't have much from the people around you, find it here.
Is your husband also trying to lose weight? If so, maybe talk to him about why he feels like giving up and why he's bringing home food you don't want. If he's not also trying to lose, then you need to try and talk with him about how it affects you. While no one is sitting you down and forcing you to eat what he brings home, it makes it much harder for you to stick to your goals. Perhaps some sort of compromise could be reached?
Is your weight loss goal too aggressive? Perhaps you're cutting your calories too drastically and that's why you're feeling tired? Try re-assessing your goals - it's better for the weight to come off slower than you'd like than for you to throw in the towel and not lose it at all. Did you cut all treats out of your diet? It's okay to still eat the foods you really like - maybe not all the time, but you can fit them into your day when you want to. Weight loss doesn't have to be filled with misery and deprivation.
Have you lost any weight or inches so far? Are your clothes looser? Can you manage more activity without getting out of breath? Think about what you've achieved so far and celebrate that - too many people refuse to congratulate themselves until they reach their ultimate goal, when every little milestone passed is worthy of praise! Feel good about how far you've come - even if it only seems like a few steps - and use that as motivation to continue.

hey buddy, i am sure we all feel like that sometimes. Heck, even after I lost some weight I still felt like giving up. Keep pushing through and the feeling will pass. You can do it.0

I know it's your journey but your hubby needs to get on board or eat his junk outside! Maybe if you tell him this he will understand and do that for you. After all this is good for both of you and your daughter.
PS... My hubby also does the same thing. Smh....I have yet to convince him not to bring the bad stuff in. But he is at least doing it less.0 -

In meeting the goals of not eating things I can't have until Saturday, it's not super difficult and making choices like water instead of soda (I think it's been like almost 2 months) I only drink either green tea or water and 1 cup of coffee in the morning. I watch YouTube videos while on the treadmill and it helps a ton, I save the ones I really want to watch for gym day so I don't get bored and quit. Weight lifting is a lot more interesting and I can do that for a whole hour and do well. I would LOVE to try yoga when I get the time to.

He goes to the gym with me but still eats pizzas and ice cream things like that, not that it's a bad thing to have on your day that you allow yourself to or even everyday figured into your calories it's just excessive amounts and he wants to gain weight but this isn't the right way, I've told
him that but he didn't care. My daughter doesn't eat most of the things he does and has mostly healthy meals/snacks. It's just frustrating to look at everyday.0 -

He's not trying to lose weight, he's actual trying to gain but I told him that's not the right way and he knows it but doesn't seem to care.
I want to lose 75lbs, no specific time frame in mind. I'm getting better at the gym, I can go longer without getting super out of breath on the treadmill and am lifting heavier and longer.
Everything currently happening is a lot with my daughter in different therapies (she's special needs) and starting school this week and her birthday and work.0 -
Even professional athletes take rest breaks. It is OK to listen to your body and look for healthy options that feel restorative and not like a slog.0

cook for yourself. imagine this. i became vegan when i was 16. living in a house of meat eaters. so i got a job just so i was able to cook my own food. cooked healthy for myself while they ate burger king and McDonald's lol not saying dont eat meat im just saying cook better for yourself and for your husband. say hey dont worry about picking up anything i cooked or tell him u wana go grocery shopping. oh and i hate the gym too but the outcome is great and good music helps. my mom is 60 years old and she hated the gym too i bought her headphones and downloaded pandora radio on her phone now she loves going and blocking out ppl and listening to her music. gotta find motivation hun. long life for yourself your daughter and husband. family is important. stay positive.0
