Nuts for nuts!

Has everyone seen these studies that say the more nuts you eat the longer you will live?

All very well, but nuts are also very high in calories! I've switched from eating cereal to eating an oz of walnuts in the morning, most days accompanied by a banana, berries, and milk. Total calories is 510, which is fine for me.

I also keep walnuts, pistachios, pecans, and other nuts around the house. Most are unsalted. You have to be very careful not to overeat them. I try to weigh out portions whenever possible.

Anyone else nuts for nuts out there?

I love nuts. Walnuts..pecans.. Brazil nuts.. Macadamia and I could name more haha. Could eat a cup a day of each if they were not so calorically dense :( I tty to fit them in once in a while.. And for me they feel and taste like a treat.

I make 100 calorie baggies and keep them in the house, and 1 in my purse.
Get a FOOD SCALE if you are going to play with nuts daily
walmart, bbbeyond, target. Cost about $20.
Almonds are my favorite. Often I soak them overnight. So nutrients can absorb better.
Chia seeds and flaxmeal are also good for you.

Nuts are one of my favorite between meal snacks. A handful of nuts keeps me satisfied for hours.

cashews <3 but oh gosh, those little babies pack 140 cals. Gotta be real careful with nuts. But i do enjoy having them for snacks, they're great for protein and recovering from my workouts. I enjoy chocolate milk too..

I eat a handful of walnuts every night after supper.

I find that I have really intense, vivid dreams. Probably due to the B6 content (avocado has the same effect)... plus it's rich in GABA.

Ever notice a walnut looks like a brain? How is that just a coincidence?!

You are so right about weighing! 100kcals of nuts is smaller than you might think, but still pretty satisfying. (I usually go for a whole oz.)

Costco has good prices on walnuts, pecans, and almonds. Trader Joe's has incredible variety.

    Still nuts for nuts!

I buy raw walnuts and almonds at Sams by the 3 pound bag full.
My husband eats them like popcorn (he has no weight issues), but I limit my intake to 1/4 cup serving size, or count out the whole almonds.................sigh...............life is not fair, I could eat them like popcorn too, but I would gain back all the weight I have been working so hard to keep off for 2 years.
