I have been lifting weights for a little over a month now ( for losing weight ) and im just wondering if it is better when starting out to do more reps with lighter weights or less reps with heavier weights? And if you lift weights what do you consider light and heavy?

Heavy is relative to the person. As long as your form is good, go heavier.0

Heavy is subjective to each person. Check out a program like Stronglifts 5X5. You can find it at stronglifts.com and download the app to track your progress at the gym. I've been working this program since November and that is me in my profile pic.
I started the program with the bare barbell - 45 lbs. I am currently at:
190 pound squat
125 pound bench press
80 pound overhead press
115 pound row
225 pound deadlift0 -
It depends on what your goals are. As for light vs. heavy, it's what is light or heavy for YOU. I can't do much more than an empty barbell, so that's my heavy.0
