when manufacturer food labels are wrong... :(

i used to eat slices of this delicious pizza from venice bakery. this is a 3 serving personal pizza with cheese and sauce. the entire pizza is listed as 390 calories, and one serving is a third of the pizza, so only 130 calories. i was going to treat myself to a slice just now when i noticed something.
their pizza crust at the same size without sauce or cheese lists the exact same nutritional information. it's pretty low calories for anything with a generous helping of cheese, so common sense says that the listing doesn't include the cheese. since there's lots of it - plus the sauce - that means there's no way from the label to figure out the calories short of pulling off the cheese and weighing it, and that still leaves the sauce. since i'm diabetic, as well as working on losing weight, this could be a health problem as well as keeping me above my daily calorie goal.
i mention this to say that sometimes when label info just doesn't seem to add up, use logic to avoid pitfalls. i've seen this before with a couple other foods from smaller brands, so keep an eye open and healthy eating, all!

I read once that the majority of food labels are between 20-40% below the actual calorie & fat content...seriously!! Our FDA couldn't possible police all of these product labels for accuracy, & the companies just want to selll their products, even if that means lying to consumers. It's just WRONG0

I'm quite convinced that it's the reason why most people who live off packaged/processed food can't lose weight... they think they have a deficit, but between label inaccuracies and serving underestimations, they are probably off by 20% or more...3
