I'm 178lbs with a goal of 135lbs , I've been running and walking on the treadmill for about 36 mins . I know walking and running helps lose belly fat but I also want to be toning my body at the same time so this week I've decided to do my cardio workout on MWF and lift weights on TuesThurs . I was just wondering if I'm going in the right direction or should I try something new .

I lift MWF, and cardio Thursday and sometimes Saturday. I've had much more success when I made lifting my priority. Whether that is the same for you...I don't know. I use Stronglifts 5X5. You can check it out at stronglifts.com. There's an app you can download to track your progress at the gym.

With that said, all the exercise in the world is not going to help if you don't eat fewer calories than your body uses in a day. A food scale really helped me in this area.

YES!!! I used to do only cardio and never had much success, but when I began to weight train this is when I really lost inches. I have lost weight, but really I focus more on the measurements than the scale.
