Serious Knee Injury Makes Workouts Hard

Back in September last year I had a very serious knee injury that required surgery. I need to walk with a cane until probably the beginning of May and my surgeon has told me that it will not be until the end of May before my injury is fully healed. This injury really affects my ability to exercise as I am not allowed to squat or pivot. Does anybody know of any leg workouts (preferably inner thigh) that are low impact that I can do until May? I don't want to wait that long to do leg workouts. Thanks and feel free to add me I am looking for fitness buddies.

Sumo, Romanian, or stiff leg deadlifts

You really want to risk it? Even safe movements can injure you if not done right. A month off will set you back less than an aggravated injury will.

Can you ask your surgeon for a referral to a physical therapist? They may be able to tell you what you can and can't do until your are completely healed. I'd go with proper medical advice and not risk delaying recovery.

A PT will give you a list of safe exercises. Generally the recumbent bike is ok for knee injury rehab, but do get guidance from a PT for exercises ok for your specific injury.

    Yes, talk to your PT.
After my ACL replacement, way back when, I really got to hating that damn bike but it sure did help with mobility and strengthening the leg.

Knees are too complex for generalised exercise advice - I've had major bone, ligament and meniscus injuries for example.
Even just taking the ligament injury - I lost my PCL, which is fairly unusual, so my rehab exercises and limitations weren't the same as someone who had an ACL injury.

Really you do need advice from a professional about your specific limitations and rehab needs.
    Best of luck.

Do not accepth advice from anyone but your dr. You do not want to take any risks. Call him/her and ask.
