Feeling the burn

when your doing an exercise and at a certain weight you do not feel the burn...do you think it is because your form is not correct or because your getting stronger ?

Getting stronger I think.... I enjoy the feeling of DOMS so when I don't get them for a few days I know I need to change my workout, more weight/extra reps etc. Our bodies adapt so quickly. But equally I know when I feel my muscles fatigued then I know its time to deload for a few days. There is a distinct difference between DOMS and fatigue.

Don't know as I am always trying to add weight or reps. And yes a weight will be come easier as you get stronger.

Now, to transition, I'll add drop sets etc....ie doing 3x10x120 on a cable pull down, I am now immediately decreasing by 20 lbs and doing as many reps, then removing another 20 etc.....my triceps are dead after that (this is how I end arm day).

When I don't feel the burn drop sets like mentioned are great, but my favorite thing to do is use less weight! Reduce your weight about 25% and focus on the contraction (mind body connection). Whilst doing this don't lock out your form and put pressure on the joints, you want constant time under tension on your muscle. Also I like to include atleast a 3 second negative on every rep. Play with the weight but I shoot for about 15, give it a 15 second break and do another set, then a 30 second break before another set. After that I'm smoked but you can do 4 or 5 sets

I really enjoy lifting to exhaustion. I feel like the burning is a sign I am encouraging my muscles to get stronger, but I also make sure to rest and fuel my body properly after. I am not at all a professional though, and that is just what seems to be working for me, but I have been seeing results and haven't had any injuries so for now I keep aiming for the burn.
