Diastasis Recti / Ab separation

Has anyone ever had or have an ab separation ? I'm looking to restore my abdominal after a very difficult appendectomy gone bad. It seems that the standard core exercises aren't helping too much was wondering if anyone had any input? The surgery was meant to be laparoscopic but ended up being an open appendectomy w complications! How can I restore my abs now? Any input ?

I'd do a quick search, I've seen this topic posted probably once a week for the past five years. There's lots of good info already waiting for you.0

I have it too and would love to have my abs toned as well. Nothing to do except a tummy tuck which I'm not ready to do yet. Mine came from a bad c-section.0

Mine from a c-section. Nothing has really helped. I try not to worry about it.0

I had it really bad due to several abdominal surgeries over the years that cut down between them. I thought I'd never fix it, because I was told not to do crunches because it causes herniation, but by doing core exercises like planks, pushups, torso twists, I have vastly improved mine. I can now get up from a laying down position to a sitting position without the bulging down the middle of my abs. My stomach is now flat when I do a sit up.1
