Hello guys,

I've been on MFP for almost a month now, have lost about 14 pounds with sticking to a calorie deficit and Zumba/dance fitness 3-4 times a week . Today I'm headed to ATL for my mother in laws bday, her sister lives there and has planned a weekend for her which includes, wine tasting and reserving a lounge . My mother in law recently lost her husband due to cancer so my husband and I are happy she is getting this weekend getaway. I am sooooo nervous about the wine tasting and lounge due to champagne and more alcohol. I don't want to mess up my progress. I also have pcos which causes insulin resistance . I don't want to be the Debbie downer on her weekend. How would you guy suggest I handle the wine tasting event and her party?

Have very light and protein packed meals.
A glass of 5oz wine might be around 140 calories. Use the MFP database.

It is perfectly acceptable at wine tasting to not drink all wine offered. Swirl it in the glass, smell it, take a small sip, and dump rest out. Repeat as needed. That's what the pros do. I live in an area full of wineries. Alternately you can offer to be the designated driver-and have good reason to limit your tastings.

Thanks for all the advice . I've been working so hard and have never been so consistent. I feel like this is the perfect test because the point is to obtain this lifestyle for good . So I need to get into the habit of figuring out how to enjoy social events but still being conscious of what I'm doing .
