My calorie goal is supposed to be 2,700 calories a day...I find that hard to take in is there any other option I could take to lose weight and not necessarily have to meet that goal? I'm 5'8 185 lbs and I'm just trynna get my six pack to show.

Do you have a physically demanding job (heavy construction, lumberjack)? Or are you doing double workouts a day? 2,700 seems like an awfully high number for weight loss for someone with your stats who doesn't have a very active life or workout routine. Where did you get that number from?1

I put in my weight loss goal and this number came up...but I find it difficult getting these amount of calories in a day, I workout about 4 times a week mostly cardio and ab workouts, and I'm eating mostly fish, chicken, veggies, protein shakes, yogurt, etc but I can't think of anything else I would need...I'm just trynna lose enough weight to where my abs will show. I don't have a huge belly but I do have some fat there and a little man boob issue but nothing major...again I'm 5'8 185lbs.0 -

Your calculations are wrong. I calculated your BASAL at 1841 cals a day for an 21 year old 5"8 185lbs. If your consuming 2700 a day you will gain 1-2 lbs a week.. which is not your stated goal.. If I were you I would target 1400-1500 a day and then that plus your workouts should put you in a nice defect that you can safely lose weight.
Personally I am a little more extreme as I have alot more to lose. I am 38 year old 5'11 and 218 lbs. My target is 1250 cals a day which has yielded my a average weight loss of 2.5-3lbs a week over the last 2 months..0 -

@Tsartele - Basal Metabolic Rate is what your body burns at complete rest. It does NOT include any activity. Day to day activity adds calories to your BMR.
So for the OP:
Basal Metabolic Rate = approximately 1820
Total Daily Energy Expenditure (the number you need to eat under to lose weight):
2093 - Sedentary with no exercise.
2275 - Lightly Active with no exercise
2457 - Active with no exercise

Tsartele you have such a large deficit that you are most likely losing large amounts of muscle. Males should eat a minimum of 1500 calories per day according to the National Institute of Health (which also recommends no more than 2 lb per week loss).

Did you select the correct activity level? Your activity level should NOT include any exercise when using MFP's calculator.0 -
