changing goals in MFP

Please help. I am not sure what I am doing. I thought that MFP will be updating me weight loss goals automatically for me. When I first signed up, I chose guided option and it was projected for me to lose 1.0 lb/week. My first week is over, I lost 2 lbs. I went into the goals just to look around and my projected weight loss was changed from 1.0 lb/week to 0.9 lbs/week. I must've hit goals button again, don't even remember what I did exactly.

Well, now it changed back to 1.0 lb/week, my calorie for the day was reduced (not much at all, just 30), but it also updated my whole food diary for the last week, so now it looks like I have been going over my limits a little... (which is not that big of a deal, I guess, I just have to remember I did not really go over).

Anyway, how should I be doing this? I still would like to lose about 1.0 lb/week, should I be updating my goals every time my weight changes? Or should I leave it alone and if it starts setting less than 1.0 lb/week goal for me - just let it do it?

Thank you very much in advance. I am a little confused by this. I thought that my goal will always be 1.0 lb/week until I reach my target weight...

I update my goals for every 5 pounds I lose.

Thank you! I started reading the help section after I posted my question and found this:

"Every time you record your weight in our system, MyFitnessPal checks to see if you've lost 10 pounds since the last time your goals were calculated. If so, we'll ask you if you'd like to reset your goals based on your new weight."

I guess I just did not realize the other side of this. I thought nothing would be updated, so did not expect to see 1.0 lb/week change to 0.9 lbs/week.

Thank you. I like your idea of not waiting till 10 lbs but changing at 5 lbs.
