Feeling down on my progress

This photo is roughly 2.5 months progress. I've been feeling really discouraged lately and this photo only made it worse. I feel like I should be leaps and bounds ahead of where I am. Not even two years ago my eating disorder was at its absolute worse. Around a year ago I started recovery and was eating again. Unfortunately it turned into a binge eating problem and between over eating, being out of sports and the medication I was taking at the time I put on 30lbs. There isn't a weight difference between the photos. I'm going to the gym 5 days a week (yes I change my routine up) using both weights and cardio and I've been fairly strict with my eating. However I'm also finding logging to be very triggering and I'm worried about falling back into my old state of mind. Does anyone have some self love tips to help stop the guilt associated with eating?

I can see heaps of difference & think of how much fitter you are now than 8 .5 weeks ago Think of this as a life long journey & allow yourself to be kind to yourself

If your weight is the same in both pictures, then you have gained muscle weight. You are looking a lot more toned and healthy now.
Just one tip: Every time you eat remind yourself that you need this to survive - just like you need oxygen. You don't feel guilty breathing, so you shouldn't feel guilty eating. I know, it's easier said than done.
Also, if logging is triggering your old mindset, maybe rather determine a few meals that will fit into a calorie range and focus on sticking to a meal plan rather than logging everything you eat.
Finally, (I know I said one, but this is important) focus on an aspect about yourself (physical or personality trait) and appreciate that - take the focus off your weight and love yourself for the parts of yourself that you like3 -

When you say you've been fairly strict with your eating that leaves a lot open to interpretation. It sounds like you're either being too strict on what you think you should limit yourself to and then crashing and binging in response. Or you're tracking some of the time, winging it the rest of the time, stressing, binging and repeat. Also I don't get the part about changing your routine up like you think you should. Consistency is far better than changing things constantly so you can track progress. If you enjoy a particular workout plan and want to stick to it for a long time, then go for it. There is nothing that says you need to change things up constantly to 'shock your body' as I've heard people say.
I totally get what you're saying about logging triggering things by the way, when you're worried about making things fit and you see you've gone over or worry about eating out and not being able to track or just getting fed up of going back and forth between your computer and the kitchen, it gets a bit much. But for what it's worth, I agree with the posters above in that you look visibly different and have definitely made progress. At this rate in another 2.5 months I think you'll be a lot happier.1 -

I can tell a difference. It sounds like you are focused on the scale, which is not what you want to do. You have to understand that a scale can not tell how much fat or muscle you have. Just because you weigh the same, does not mean you have not made progress. You have to understand something. When you start adding lean muscle, you will not see your weight going down much, if at all. That's because lean muscle weighs more than fat per volume. Don't be so hard on yourself.0
