Hey guys, just wandering if anyone suffers with this disease? I lost a lot of weight a while back but it all piled back on over a year and I was wandering why I was gaining such bad acne through my exercising then I was diagnosed with PCOS. I've tried to loose weight several times now but I am struggling and seeing no results even though I'm really working hard i actually walk for a hour every day as well as go the gym and trying to deal with my anxietys cause of my skin trouble and chubby belly!
I am going to try and push through though i'm determined to get healthy and slim so i've started taking classes like spinning and circuit training to help me through i've done quite a few of these classes and my own cardio with some lifting. I've done pole fitness for a year now as well but the scales haven't budged yet but my boyfriend has lost lots!
What do you guys eat when dealing with PCOS? How do you guys keep motivated?

Hi girlie! I've been in your shoes and it's hard but not impossible! I've lost over 200lbs! Important to stay away from processed foods, sugary drinks, and sugary foods. Have you tried Paleo or Whole 30? I started there and that really helped with the acne problem really quick!!
For me the only motivation that worked was myself, afterall this is something only you can control, a little determination and I refuse to fail at anything

There are tons of people here with PCOS, tons of versions of this thread, and tons of MFP groups dedicated to the struggles of women with PCOS. You're not alone.
Calories in, calories out still works. If you're not losing weight, it's because you're eating too much. Not because you're eating "chemicals" or "evil processed foods" or other BS like that. It's because you're eating too much.
Personally, I do better when my carb intake is between 40-45% of my total calories. A lot of people go lower. I'm super active so I tolerate more. I also do better with a smaller deficit so my loss is slower. Of course, finding what works for me has been a process of trial and error.
