I walk around 6 - 8 miles a day. Do you believe a person could lose weight just based off eating less calories and doing that daily? Just a random thought

If you're in a calorie deficit, yes0

The key is the amount of calories consumed, in relation to what your body burns in a day. Walking will help you burn more so it may be easier to eat at a deficit. You can lose weight without the walking (but the walking is soooo good for you) but you can't lose weight without eating less calories. imho0

How much do you weight?
2 miles of walking or running (30 mins) = 250 cal burned.
When you said "believe" you sound like you've lost all your confidence.
I walk every other day, only 10k, and eat on avearge 1350 and I drop a little over 1 lb/week. To me, you are walking A LOT. Your loss should be at dizzling pace.
