Ounces or grams

Hi. My electronic food scale only measures ounces. Will I be better off if I switch to one that measures grams? Any brand recommendations?

Doesn't matter, ounces work just fine. If food in the database is measured in grams, just measure it on your scale and multiply however many ounces you get times 28 to get the corresponding grams. Easy peasy.3

Grams is more accurate. But for most things it's only going to be a very small difference. As long as the scale does oz with a decimal place or two then it should be fine. I mention that because I had an older scale with no decimal on the oz, so it would round up or down, just food for thought.1

I measure in grams. I don't think in ounces, and packaged food doesn't come in ounces, it comes in grams.0

I don't measure in oz I use grams more accurate.
28 grams in an oz that's a lot of leeway if it's calorie dense.1 -
I use ounces or grams. My scale measures ounces out two decimal places. There's no difference in accuracy.1

I'm sure you'll be fine if you keep yours that only weighs ounces. I personally like using grams. I got mine on Amazon a couple of months ago for like $12. It's called Ozeri digital food scale. I really like it. Good luck!1

either will do fine, its cups thats usually the problem...
Personally I prefer grams, but each to their own.1 -
I bought mine at target has all measurements. Brand name Taylor. I think it cost $25.00. best purchase I ever made. I use it all the time.1

so far I've been doing ounces mostly unless the package shows its 28 grams and I weigh out an ounce then I leave it at grams and if its a weird number that I can't think of in my head then I just look up "how many ounces is in ___ grams'' lol.1

Because packaged foods list weights in grams, it is more convenient to have a scale that uses grams (and ounces, as some recipes call for ounces) but if you don't mind the time spent converting, you can easily stick with your current scale.1
