Hi All,
I used to lift quite heavy before around an year and a half ago. I was in a pretty good shape.
I stopped everything due to some reasons and gained around 30 pounds back. I have started again and since last month have been doing cardio. I haven't lost much except 5 pounds.
I dont know if I should start lifting now or should wait for 1 or 2 more months to lose some more. Can somebody please help me out. for diet I try to do low carb most days, and do cardio for hr and a half. Can I do cardio +lifting? Should I lift heavy ?

For weight loss, you should limit your calories.
For general health and fitness, you need a combination of cardio and resistance training, regardless of weight loss goals. The exact type of exercise and schedule, it is up to you. If you plan to do X or Y, why postpone it?1 -
Do both.
Start off doing your weights, then do 20-30 mins of cardio. If it's nice, go for a walk with your significant other.... or by yourself.
But calories matter for weight loss. If your firm on not dropping your current calories, you're going to have to increase your activity or add another day or more of workouts into your schedule.0 -
Thanks All.
I am eating fewer calories than my goal calories.0 -
Something wrong with both?0

both.
stay in a calorie deficit, lift heavy and do cardio.
calorie deficit for weight loss
lifting heavy and cardio for health and fitness.0 -
I always choose lifting first, but a quick round of cardio afterwards is icing on the cake.0

If you have the option of only 1, lifting is the better option for almost everyone and every goal. Both is best.0
