Drying out for a photoshoot

Not really sure which topic to post this under, but I'm curious for advice from others who have experience on how to best (and SAFELY) dry-out for a photoshoot to ensure I look my best (shoot isn't until 5PM day of).

I personally haven't done this simply because i'm a vegetarian and i'd be killing myself with carb manipulation... but...

i have a few friends who had pretty good success with Cellucor's L2. You have to take it for 5 days before your event for it to be effective. I think there's a product called "sweet sweat" you can rub all over certain areas and cover and do some cardio to lose some localized water as well.

Otherwise there's the typical eating less carbs, drinking a ton of water, sauna's, wraps, low sodium, cardio mixed with some sort of sweat wrap, etc.

In my opinion though for a photoshoot you CAN rely a little bit on photoshop, a good tan, etc. :)

How long until the shoot? There are a few different methods and it's best to experiment because not all of them work for everyone. The main method is to drink a few gallons of water every day for 5+ days, then to cut it to one gallon for a day, half a gallon for a day, then as little as possible. You cut sodium and carbs until the day of (or day before or two days before depending on how your body responds), plus add lots of caffeine the last two days. Some candy (fat and sugar) 30 minutes to an hour before the shoot gives you a nice pump, but again it's going to depend on your body.

Some people don't have to do that at all. They add a bunch of sodium in the morning and look dry by late afternoon.

I definitely agree with this. If you have the time i'd experiment to see what gives you the best results you should so there's no surprises.

it's on Friday... last minute to ask for advice, but I wasn't planning on doing much different than I typically would since I don't want any surprises. I just wanted to see what folks had to say about it.

pretty much doing what you mentioned so that makes me feel better!

My first two attempts left me looking worse and feeling like crap. I finally found a combo that helped for my first show. My second one I didn't even bother because I was a lot leaner and as long as I didn't eat or drink anything I looked great.

If it wasnt for how you feel and perform for the shoot i would say 2-3 shots of vodka an hour before. :D
