Kalola here,
I'm a very young 60 year old from coastal NC. I had the Obera placed 3 weeks ago and have been on myfitnesspal a week. I have lost 15 lbs in 3 weeks (yay) but it has been a challenge getting enough to eat, and sometimes dealing with negative side effects of eating too much at one sitting, or the wrong things. It is funny what doesn't bother me (peanut butter) and what does (chicken) I am taking proactive meds for nausea and GERD. does anyone have any suggestions?

I was sleeved 11/05/15, I can relate to the effects of "one bite too many", especially in the beginning, but you will get used to your new capacity, and know when you are "full" over time. Do you know how long you will have the balloon in? Do you know how much room in your stomach the balloon takes up? Do you still feel hunger? My husband was wondering about getting a balloon. He is only about 25lbs overweight, but can't seem to get and keep it off. I've lost 63lbs since my sleeve, and have 18 to go to my post op goal weight.0

Congratulations on you being close to goal!
The balloon stays in only 6 months. My team follows me for 6 months after to make sure I can stay on track. the balloon is about the size of a grapefruit. Mine was filled with 650cc of normal saline. (that may vary) so it takes up much of the stomach area. My doctor requires a BMI of 30-40, so he may not qualify. Mine was 44, but I am in reasonable good health, but have some risk factors, so he allowed me. BMI is now 41. I weighed 295, now 280 in 3 weeks. Goal weight is around 160.
I feel hunger, but I then I feel full quickly. If I can stop myself and wait an hour, the satiation sets in and I won't eat any more. I was so hungry last night, I ate a chicken sandwich on whole wheat, no mayo. I was fine until this morning, woke up with nausea, diaarreah and GERD. I am taking rx Nexium and Zofran for nausea, but was unable to take them this morning. I am better now. finally ate some peanut butter and am heating up some chicken broth.0
