Hello MyFitnessPal community! I need some advice. I don't know what my lifestyle is, even after reading some blog responses online. I am a teenage male who is consuming 1500 calories, I walk briskly every morning with my dogs before school and participate in cross country and track- so I'm running or cross training every day after school. I can also run half marathons. I had it set as "Lightly Active" becuase I sit in school but felt like I was eating way too much. So am I "Active" or "Very Active"? Please help, thank you.

"Calorie Ranges
Boys between the ages of 11 and 13 need 1,800 to 2,600 calories per day while boys ages 14 to 18 need between 2,200 to 3,200 calories per day. Girls aged 11 to 13 need 1,800 to 2,200 calories per day while those between the ages of 14 and 18 need 1,800 to 2,400 calories per day, according to the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
Factors Affecting Calorie Needs
One of the main factors affecting the calorie needs of teenagers is activity level. Teenagers who are sedentary need to consume fewer calories than those who are more active. Very active teenage boys who play sports like football, soccer or basketball may need up to 3,500 calories per day. Teenagers who are larger or taller require more calories to maintain their body weight than teenagers who are shorter or thinner."0 -
You don't have to get this answer right. Choose one and eat that way for a couple of weeks. If you like your loss rate, that was the right one. If not, try the other one.0

Im lightly active but i put sedentary so i lose more. You sound very active yes you sit at school but you exercise everyday. So its up to you.0

I think the activity level pertains more to day-to-day stuff, not exercise. Exercise should be added via the exercise tab. A 'very active' person would be, say, a nurse, who is on their feet most of the day and walking around. Someone who sits most of the day but exercises before or after should probably put sedentary and then add exercise after.0
